From a Team of Nine in Split to a $1B Agent Cloud: Daytona Raises $60M Series B

Daytona has raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation, led by FirstMark Growth. We backed Ivan Burazin and Vedran Jukić at pre-seed in 2023, when Daytona was nine people in Split.

In June 2023, after a single call with Ivan Burazin and Vedran Jukić, our investment scorecard for Daytona read: "We invest. Unicorn potential." Three years later, Daytona has raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation, led by FirstMark Growth, and we couldn't be prouder of the team.

Silicon Gardens was among Daytona's first investors, joining its pre-seed round in 2023 alongside a small group of angels. Back then, Daytona was nine people in Split, Croatia, building tools for managing development environments. Nobody was talking about agents yet.

Every agent needs its own computer

AI agents write code, run it, test it and try again. To do that safely and at scale, they need somewhere to execute: isolated, fast and disposable. That is what Daytona builds.

In early 2025, the team rebuilt the company around this idea. Today Daytona runs an Agent Execution Cloud, a compute layer for agents. Its sandboxes start in milliseconds, pause with their state intact, fork into parallel copies, and span Linux, Windows, macOS, and GPU environments.

Builders for builders

Daytona's founders have been building for developers for over a decade. Ivan Burazin founded Shift, the Split developer conference that became a meeting point for developers from around the world, and later led developer experience at Infobip. Vedran Jukić spent ten years as CTO of Codeanywhere, where the two first built developer tools together. Goran Draganić, the third co-founder, is Daytona's Chief Architect.

Ivan brought the Shift playbook with him. In March 2026, Daytona's Compute conference brought more than a thousand AI builders to San Francisco's Chase Center.

Why we backed them

"We invested in the team, not in the product they had at the time. What mattered was that they followed where the market was going. They moved to the US and started working alongside the people at the bleeding edge of AI. If they had stayed only in the region, they wouldn't have built the right product." — Gregor Rebolj, Managing Partner at Silicon Gardens

That is the founder profile we exist to back: rooted in the region, global in outlook, and willing to go where the market is.

What's next

From a pre-seed in Split to the infrastructure behind some of the world's leading AI teams, Daytona shows what founders from our region can build when they aim global from the very start.

Congratulations, Ivan, Vedran, Goran and the whole Daytona team! 🌱

We're proud to have been there early, and we're just as excited for what comes next.
