We invested in Veeda AI

We invested in Veeda AI

Veeda AI has raised more than $90M in its founding round, co-led by Khosla Ventures and Radical Ventures. We’re proud to be part of it.

Robots don’t get better by thinking. They get better by doing, and then failing, and then doing again, thousands of times over. The problem is that the real world is a terrible classroom. It’s slow, expensive, and a robot that learns to walk by falling ten thousand times is a robot that breaks long before it learns anything.

Veeda is building the classroom instead.

The company makes world models: AI that simulates physical reality closely enough that a robot can learn inside it. A reactive, physically accurate version of the world, where an autonomous system can try something a million times, get it wrong a million ways, and arrive in the real world already knowing what it’s doing.

Sanja Fidler, Veeda’s CEO, describes it as building “the Matrix for physical AI.” She bets that this simulation layer becomes infrastructure, the thing every robotics company eventually has to build on, whether they build it themselves or not.

Veeda’s founders spent years at the exact frontier of this one. Sanja Fidler was VP of AI Research at NVIDIA and its first hire in Toronto, where she spent eight years building the lab that became its Spatial Intelligence group. Žan Gojčič was a Director of AI Research there. Huan Ling, Veeda’s chief scientist, worked alongside Sanja on NVIDIA’s own world model.

A note we’ll allow ourselves: Sanja and Žan are both from Slovenia. We spend a lot of time arguing that founders from this region can build at the absolute top of the field. It’s a nicer argument to make when they’re already doing it.
